Government adopts strategy of public debt managing

The state debt reduced to 60% of GDP as of today

Ukraine’s Government adopted a strategy of managing public debt. The decision was made at today’s meeting, broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

According to the strategy, the Finance Ministry predicts the reducing of state debt to 52% of GDP next year and to 49% - till the end of 2020.

According to Oksana Makarova, Acting Minister of Finance, for now, the state debt reduced to 60% of GDP. In comparison, 49% is an average level of debt of the developing countries.

Earlier it was reported that as of the end of May, 2018 Ukraine’s state debt reduced by $790 million. The state debt was $76,26 billion as of the end of May this year.
