Wolfgang Bindseil, the Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Germany to Ukraine claimed that the total aid to Ukraine from Germany made more than 800 million euros in the form of the grants and loans during 2014-2016 as Ukrinform reported.
‘We provide a lot of hands-on assistance to Ukraine. The total aid to Ukraine made more than 800 million euros in the form of the grants and loans during 2014-2016’, the diplomat noted.
Also, the aid was provided within the EU and international financial institutes.
According to Bindseil, the German government-owned development bank (KfW) actively supports the Ukrainian business. Particularly, the efforts of Germany concern such spheres as the sustained development, energy efficiency, agribusiness, decentralization, research programs, science, civil society and independent mass media. Also, Germany participates to decrease the influence of the consequences of the Donbas Conflict.
As we reported Ukraine raised a loan from German government-owned development bank KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau), and the loan contract is already signed by the sides. KfW is to provide the three other parts of the credit in the total amount of 500 mln EUR. This money will cover the energy sector expenditures, infrastructure projects, and the purchase of goods for these two areas said the Minister of Finance Natalia Yaresko. The Ministry of Finance also announced that the interest rate (annual) is less than 2.6%.
