In February, the Russian concern Gazprom transported 76% of the reserved gas volumes through the Gas Transmission System of Ukraine. The head of the company LLC Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine Sergiy Makogon reported it on his Facebook page.
"According to operational data, the transit of gas to the EU and Moldova through Ukraine amounted to 3.926 billion m3 in February. This is 76% of the reserved capacity under the new contract with Gazprom," said Makogon.
According to him, the Russian side made a full prepayment for February in January. The prepayment for March has already been credited to the accounts of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.
As we reported earlier, gas transmission systems of Ukraine and Slovakia will start the virtual reverse of natural gas from March 1.
"LLC Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine and Slovak Gas Transmission System Operator Eustream a.s. are launching a virtual reverse through the Veľké Kapušany-Uzhhorod connection point from March 1, 2020," the statement reads.
