Gazprom has sent a formal proposal to NJSC Naftogaz-Ukraine to extend the current contract or to conclude a new agreement on transit of gas through the territory of Ukraine for one year. It was reported by Interfax.
It is emphasized that Gazprom's proposal states that the remission of both parties' mutual claims in international arbitration and the termination of all court proceedings are the necessary conditions for the continuation of a valid contract or the conclusion of a new agreement.
In addition, Gazprom listed additional conditions: the reversal of the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to impose a fine on Gazprom for "distortion of economic competition", withdrawal of the Naftogaz-Ukraine’s petition to initiate an investigation against the Russian company by the European Commission.
As we reported earlier, NJSC Naftogaz-Ukraine achieved the assets freeze for GazAsia Capital S.A., the company that issued Eurobonds of Gazprom company in Japanese Yens. Interfax news agency reported that with the reference to a memorandum of the new issue of Gazprom's Eurobonds.
