Gazprom is working on booking additional transit capacities in Ukraine for March in a volume similar to the additional reservation for February. This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the results of the monthly auction on the Regional Booking Platform.
In 2021, Gazprom has a long-term reservation of Ukrainian capacities in the amount of 40 billion cubic meters - 110 million cubic meters per day.
Additional transit capacities for March were booked on the RBP platform on Monday. 14.2 million cubic meters per day were requested. The result of the auction in February was exactly the same.
As we reported earlier, coal reserves in warehouses of Ukrainian thermal power plants have reached an all-time low of 455,000 tons.
"Unfortunately, the warehouses of coal-fired power plants have been operated to a level that is probably the lowest for the entire period of Ukraine's independence. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that half of this coal is concentrated at two stations: 116 thousand tons of anthracite at Luhansk TPP and 105 thousand tons at Slovyanska TPP, which, as you know, does not work. There are 220,000 tons left at all other stations, which is absolutely not enough to guarantee the country's energy security," said Vitalii Zaichenko, chief dispatcher of National Power Company Ukrenergo.
