In April, the wholesale price of natural gas for the needs of the population, heat producers and other protected consumers decreased by 15% compared to the previous month - up to 2.9 hryvnias (0.11 dollars) per cubic meter. This was reported by the press service of Naftogaz-Ukraine.
"The drop in gas prices for the third consecutive month is a positive signal for people. Gas bills in April should decrease both due to the end of the heating season and because of the decrease in Naftogaz's selling price. As a result, I hope that the overall strain on the budgets of Ukrainian households, which feel the negative consequences of quarantine measures, will be reduced," Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Andriy Kobolev said.
According to Naftogaz-Ukraine, overall, gas prices have fallen by 38% since January 2020.
As we reported earlier, the overall volume of gas transit across Ukraine in January-March 2020 fell twice in comparison with the same period in 2014-2019.
"The volumes of transit, in fact, dropped twice in comparison with the average index of January-March 2019. At that, in early 2020, JSC Gazprom fully paid for the work of power output of the gas transit, which is in line with the new transit agreement, with the account for 65 billion cubic meters per year," the message reads.
