Ukraine’s state fiscal service initiated the investigation against Yulia Marushevska, the ex-head of Odesa customs office. Roman Nasirov, the head of the State Fiscal Service reported that as quoted by Reuters.
To prove his statement, Nasirov said that in just several weeks after she was fired, incomes of the customs office grew by 30 percent (USD 11 mln). His press service provided information about customs receipts in January-October 2016, when the customs office failed to fulfill the plans. Nasirov added that the ex-official faces several more charges, but never specified one.
Marushevska denies all charges.
Last month, Yulia Marushevska resigned from the office by her won request, saying there were no more tools for reformation of the authority, and too many projects in this area fail – in spite of control by the top officials. The State Fiscal Service signed the letter on December 5.
