The monetary and fiscal policy, fight against corruption and further fate of PrivatBank are the main issues of Ukraine-IMF negotiations as Voice of America reported citing Finance Minister of Ukraine Oksana Markarova.

“Two tasks – to retain the macro-financial stability and accelerate the economic growth,” Markarova said about the tasks which Ukraine should achieve soon according to the IMF.

She confirmed that PrivatBank issue is present during the talks; however, mostly in the context of the stability of the banking sector. Besides, the possibility of the return of the credit facilities to the state and other problematic banks are discussed.

Finance Minister finds the current talks with the IMF on the new lending program to be more dynamic than in the previous years despite the fact that the process is difficult and takes a few months usually.

On October 16, Ukrainian officials came to Washington for negotiations with the IMF.

Earlier the International Monetary Fund has finished its mission in Ukraine. Its representatives have started to discuss with Ukraine the possible beginning of a new program for three years.
