The financial guarantee of the holding of the international song contest Eurovision-2017 in the sum of 15 million of Euro was blocked due to the request of the International TV Channel Euronews (Lyon, France). The Chairman of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (UA: PBC) Zurab Alasania claimed this as Ukrainian News reported.

‘The third side appeared. When we hired the Swiss advocates, they came to the court and received the documents. According to them, it is definitely Euronews. It is the official information’, he said.

The Genevese Office on enforced recovery of debts initiated the arrest of the 15 million of euro that Ukraine allocated as the guarantee of holding of the Eurovision-2017 on June 22.

Later, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the rights holder of the Eurovision song contest fined Ukraine for the refusal to let the Russian singer Julia Samoylova to enter the Ukrainian territory for 200,000 Euro.

The UA: PBC found the EBU sanctions to be groundless and announced the appeal against the EBU decision.
