The extension of the export duties on metal scrap in Ukraine will break the agreement with EU to remove the duties. The Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine reported this at Facebook.

'The Verkhovna Rada plans to consider an extension of export duties on metal scrap today, which would break an agreement with the EU to remove these duties. While we acknowledge the difficult situation the Ukrainian steel industry is faced with, the extension of export duties on scrap metal is not a sustainable solution, and is not in line with Ukraine's international commitments', the message reports.

Also, EU Delegation expresses the hope that the MPs will take into account this fact and avoid the trade dispute with EU.

The Verkhovna Rada passed the bill #6382 that provides the extension of the export duties on the scrap for 2 years. The amount of the duties is 30 Euro.
