The European Union decided to increase assistance to Ukraine on the basis of the results achieved in the reform of public administration in 2017. This was reported by the press office of the EU representation in Ukraine.
Based on the results achieved by Ukraine in reforming public administration in 2017, the EU decided to increase assistance to Ukraine in this important area of public policy.
"15.5 million euros out of the total amount of 90 million that constitute the EU commitment to support this reform was agreed for transfer to the state budget of Ukraine for 2018. This is the second payment after the first tranche of 10 million euros that was granted in May 2017, "- stated in the message.
We recall that Ukraine has committed to implement a comprehensive reform of public administration. In 2016, the new law "On Public Service" came into force and the Strategy for Reforming the Public Administration of Ukraine for 2016-2020 was adopted.
In order to implement this key reform, the EU approved a special assistance program amounting to 104 million euros, which provides 90 million euros for budget support and 14 million euros for technical assistance, which is used to provide advisory services to government bodies involved in implementing the reform.
According to the results of the analysis of the Report on Ukraine's reform implementation in 2017, the EU decided to allocate 15.5 million euros of budgetary support.
