“We do not posses particular comments toward the phone talks and different declarations but in fact, it is important for us to say that the support of Ukraine by the EU is unprecedented and during last five years we provided to Ukraine the largest support in the history of the European Union,” Gordejuela said.
According to him, the EU as the implacable supporter of Ukraine and its democratic way, which recognizes the unprecedented challenges faced by Ukraine and recognizes its efforts in holding of reforms since Revolution of Dignity in 2014, along with the European financial institutions mobilized over 15 billion of euro in the form of grants and loans to support the process of the reforms.
Ruiz de Gordejuela noted that in its turn, Ukraine should fulfill its promises on the implementation of the great number of the reforms.
“Concerning the military aid of Ukraine and security issues: we completely and firmly support the territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty of Ukraine. We do it with the help of the combination of pressure by the restrictive measures, diplomatic efforts and continuation of the dialogue,” Ruiz de Gordejuela stated.
During the speech at the UNGA, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will delay the provision of the financial aid to Ukraine.
According to The Washington Post, U.S. President ordered to stop the payment of $400 million of military aid to Ukraine before the call to Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Zelensky.
One of the officials stated that Trump withheld the funds fearing the corruption in Ukraine and the decision to transfer money was motivated by the early end of the financial year on September 30.
Later it was reported that the USA can allocate 30 million dollars less to Ukraine for military assistance.
