Egypt imposes the temporary customs duties for steel import from China, Turkey and Ukraine as Reuters reports.
The reason for such decision is the complaints of the local producers who are not able to compete with import products.
'This decision was made to protect the local producer from the harmful practice of the import alternatives', Tarek Kabil, the Minister of Trade of Egypt said.
The customs duties will be imposed on the level of 15-27% for Ukraine, 17% for China and 10-19% for Turkey.
Ukraine left the TOP-10 world producers of steel in February 2017. The Ukrainian steelworkers smelted 1.9 million of tons of steel. This is less for 3.6% then in February 2016.
