European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will give credit of €8 million for renovation of the trolleybus park in Kremenchuk. This was reported by the press service of the bank.
The credit will be given to the municipal enterprise “Kremenchuk Trolleybus Administration” for the purchase of 50 new low-floor trolleybuses, their replacement parts and repairs and diagnostic equipment.
Kremenchuk’s project will also receive an investment grant of €2 million from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Fund (E5P).
“This project will allow the city to modernize almost the entire trolleybus park and that will positively affect the quality and the amount of services. New trolleybuses that will be bought in 2017 will be 20% more effective than the current ones, the majority of which were produced more than 15 years ago,” the message says.
Note that the EBRD is the biggest international financial investor in Ukraine. From the beginning of its activity in the country in 1993, the bank committed itself to allocate almost 12 billion euros in the framework of 369 projects.
Earlier it was reported that €200 million credit program for Eastern Ukraine's regions restoration began. The program covers five areas of Eastern Ukraine and implements projects in social housing, social services and municipal infrastructure.
