The fund notes that the liquidation process of the first four banks was finished in 2018. All demands of the creditors were satisfied in two cases (Klassikbank and Derzhzembank), and the residual property was passed to the shareholders of the banks.
It is noted that after the closure of two remaining banks, Tavrika and Erde Bank, the demands of the creditors in the sum $43 million were still not satisfied. The cases on the recovery of these funds from the people connected with these banks are in the courts now.
“As for today, almost $1.2 billion were returned to the creditors of the insolvent banks, including $143.6 million paid to the creditors of the seventh line (business) and almost $71.9 million to the depositors of “200+” and about $287.9 million to the secured creditors, first of all the Nattional bank of Ukraine”, said Olga Bilay, the Director of Asset Management Department.
The Deposit Guarantee Fund complained about the work of law enforcement bodies, which slow the investigation of the criminal offences of the insolvent banks.
Deputy Managing Director of Fund Viktor Novikov noted that the workers of the fund received 5,400 applications to the law enforcement bodies on the committed criminal offences at the insolvent banks in the total sum of more than $21.8 billion. Unfortunately, less than 1% of the cases were brought to the courts.
As for today, the lodge complaints connected with 31 insolvent banks in the total sum of $2.4 billion were filed.
