Cost of imported gas increases by over 40% in Ukraine since beginning of year

The State Customs Service of Ukraine published the average customs value of imported natural gas in the period from 1 to 31 May 2021. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Economy.

"The State Customs Service of Ukraine has calculated the average customs value of imported natural gas, which was formed in the process of its customs clearance during import into the territory of Ukraine in the period from 01.05.2021 to 31.05.2021," the statement reads.

In the period from 1 to 31 May 2021, the price was 8030.65 UAH or 291.71 USD. for 1,000 cubic meters.

The average customs value of imported natural gas in May increased by 11.9% in hryvnia equivalent and by 13.6% in dollar terms compared to April.

Compared to December 2020, the price of imported gas increased by 40.8% in hryvnia equivalent and by 44.1% in dollars.

As it was reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine amended the methodology for the determination of the average trade price for fuel and diesel fuel. On the basis of this price, the gas stations can establish their mark-up.
