On the night of September 2, the Bitcoin exchange rate for the first time exceeded the $5,000 mark for the unit, according to CoinDesk, which tracks the cost of bitcoin on various exchanges.

According to the report, the Bitcoin rate was fixed at around 5013.91 dollars around 4:25 Kyiv time, remaining at this point for 10 minutes. Later, the price fell slightly below the $5 000 mark.

Market data indicates that the highest cost of crypto currency was reported on the Chinese stock exchange OKCoin and amounted to 5 thousand 149 dollars.

As reported, on August 13 Bitcoin reached the historic maximum, a rate of $ 4,087.22 per unit. At the same time, the capitalization of the currency, according to the data of the Coinmarketcap trading platform, approached to 67.4 billion dollars.

Experts believe that under Moore's law, the cost of Bitcoin will be doubled every 8 months until it becomes one of the most massive financial assets in the world.
