The International Monetary Fund (IMF) estimates the losses of Ukraine from the corruption in 2% of the GDP. IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Gösta Ljungman claimed this at the Ukrainian Investment Forum as Ukrainian News reported.
'There is no essential fight against corruption in Ukraine. The corruption costs 2% of the economic growth for Ukraine and the fight against it is the issue of the economic prosperity', Ljungman said.
He noted the importance of the creation of the Anti-corruption court to get the next tranche from the IMF.
Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko insists on the immediate work out of the draft law on the Anti-corruption court and expect to sign the proper law until the end of the year. Earlier the IMF insisted that the Verkhovna Rada should adopt the law on the Anti-corruption court in June 2017 and the courts should begin the work until the end of March 2018.
