The volume of construction work in Ukraine in 2017 rose by 20.9% compared to 2016, whereas the growth between 2015 and 2016 amounted to 17.4%. Such statistics were published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
The data does not take into account the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, city of Sevastopol and the ATO zone area.
The agency’s statistics find that the volume of construction in the month of December 2017 grew by 9.7%, while having skyrocketed by 46.4%, compared to November 2017.
According to the report, the growth in the volume of construction was exhibited in all segments. Non-residential construction increased by 20.2%, construction of residential buildings expanded by 11.7%, whereas construction of engineering facilities rose by 17.8%.
Here, the total volume of construction in 2017 exceeded $861 million, indicating a 30.1% increase in annual terms.
According to the State Statistics Service, the biggest catalysts for the nationwide growth in construction volumes were Kirovohrad region (increase of 53.4%), Zhyomyr region (38.9%) and Odesa region (38.4%)
On the contrary, construction shrank in Luhansk region (by 27%), Sumy region (by 4.1%) and Volyn region (by 1.6%), while maintaining last year’s figure in Chernivtsi region (almost $40 million).
