Communications Commission sends draft resolution on 4G license fees for 2300 MHz to government

The initial price for the use of the 1 MHz band throughout Ukraine within the 2300 MHz spectrum is set at $28,226.

The National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) has endorsed a draft resolution on the fees for the issue of 4G licences for the 2300 MHz band needed for the 4G communications tender to occur and has sent it to the Cabinet of Ministers, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“The initial price for the use of the 1 MHz band throughout Ukraine within the 2300 MHz spectrum is set at $28,226,” a source close to the regulator said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The approximate price of the 1 MHz band will then be used for calculating the price of licenses for 4G communications in the 2345-2400 MHz spectrum.

The commission’s press service pointed out that the draft was compiled taking into account the results of the research on the status of the distribution of Ukraine’s radio frquency spectrum. The study was carried out by the foreign advisor, Analysys Mason Limited, and adopted by the working group designated to introduce the 4G mobile communications system.
