The goal of the program is to create a modern network of roads that would allow higher volumes of transportation and to improve the country’s investment climate, as well as to ensure quality transportation services at the same time.
In particular, the program provides for the renovation and development of the road network following the route principle. For example, from West to East, completion of nearly finished projects, gradual introduction of long-term agreements, enhancement of cooperation with international financial institutions for fundraising purposes, improvement of conditions for investments, introduction of land information management of roads and many others.
The implementation of the program is expected to yield the following results: improvement of 9.1 thousand km of roads, construction and renovation of 1 thousand km of roads, inflow of additional funds from transit transportation by road, widespread usage of the export and logistic potential, reduction in transportation costs.
It should also be noted that the program is expected to create around 55,000 jobs. The program is to be funded through state budget expenditures, donations from the International Monetary Fund and other sources. The total budget of the program is estimated at $11.37 billion, of which $6.16 billion will be allocated from the state budget.
