Deficit balance of payments will increase to $4.3 billion in 2017 due to Donbas blockade. This was reported by Valeria Gontareva, the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, in an interview to Ukrinform.

"The realities are different today, and blockade is one of them, which will lead, in particular, to balance-of-payments gap up to $4.3 billion this year," she noted.

At the same time, Gontareva added that the National Bank is not giving up plans to relax monetary restrictions, explaining that the speed of process would depend on economic situation in the country.

Speaking about the third IMF tranche, Gontareva stressed that if the decision by Board of Directors of the Fund is positive (the meeting is to take place April 3), receiving the tranche will not take long — "usually it happens in a few days".
