Azerbaijani contractor for Formula-1 racetrack to build Ukrainian roads

Azerbaijan-based AzVirt LLC is set to work on the construction of Ukraine’s highways and infrastructure facilities, the corporation’s press service has informed, UNIAN reports.

“The cornerstone of our operations is the quality assurance and a very strict control system. We pay special attention to employee training. Our workers are training overseas on a regular basis in order to enhance their skills,” AzVirt LLC CEO Kamil Aliyev told foreign journalists.

“I would like to point out to note the construction of strategically important in places like Baku, Ganja, Lankaran, Zaqatala and Gabala,” he said, referencing some large-scale construction projects carried out by the corporation in Azerbaijan.

“In 1999, we built an overpass to a new airport terminal in Azerbaijan’s capital, while a range of works was implemented in the airport. We have an outstanding experience in comprehensive repair of Baku’s streets and avenues. Between 2002 and 2003, we built internal roads at the Sangachal Terminal. Under the framework of the Great Silk Road project, we completed the renovation of the Shamkir-Gazakh highway in 2006. Runways, aprons and other airfield platforms have been built in the Heydar Aliyev International Airport,” the official said.

Since 2012 the corporation has actively expanded the geographical scope of its operations overseas, building roads in multiple countries of Central and Eastern Europe. For instance, AzVirt has built highways with a fine traffic-bearing surface and storm drainage systems in Serbia. The corporation built a racetrack allowing speeds up to 350 km/h for Formula-1.

As of today, AzVirt has established branches in five countries of the world, while successfully implementing projects related to road and infrastructure restoration in those countries. Therefore, the successful record of AzVirt in Azerbaijan and European countries will be beneficial both for Ukraine and its drivers, as the firm has fantastic expertise in improving the quality of roads and infrastructure in accord with the European standards, the press service wrote.
