By the end of April, the Ukrainian monetary base increased by 4.8% to UAH 412.24 billion. This is reported by the National Bank.

In the first four months of 2018, the growth of the monetary base amounted to 3.3%.

The growth was reinforced by several factors. So, the amount of cash in circulation outside banks grew by 2.5% - to 331.618 billion UAH. In addition, the reserve of funds in banks increased by 15%, to 80.622 billion UAH.

At the same time, the money supply in Ukraine in April 2018 amounted to 1.191 trillion UAH, showing an increase of 1.9%.

NBU reports that the dynamics is explained by 1.7% increase in the balance of deposits and an increase in the amount of cash in circulation outside banks.

At the same time, since early 2018, the money supply has decreased by 1.5%.

The dollarization level of the money supply also declined - 30%, compared to 31% in March and 32% at the end of 2017.

Net international reserves increased by 5% and amounted to 6.661 billion dollars. Debt of banks on refinancing loans, on the contrary, declined by 4.8%, to 59.973 billion UAH.

It is noted that the growth of the monetary base in recent months is also associated with the issue of hryvnia for the redemption of currencies in the interbank market.
