The draft 2022 state budget plans to allocate $7.3 billion for the needs of medicine. In particular, the minimum wage of doctors is planned to increase to $755. This was stated during a">government meeting by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal and Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko.
“As part of the decree of the President of Ukraine on measures to increase the competitiveness of healthcare facilities and provide additional guarantees for health workers, the draft budget provides funds to increase salaries for doctors and paramedics. The average salary of a doctor will be around $850, $550 for a nurse; at the same time, the minimum salary will be at least $755 for doctors and $490 for medical staff,” Marchenko stated.
Shmygal said that the medical industry should receive $7.3 billion, which is $1.2 billion more than this year.
“Compared to 2019, the budget for medicine has doubled. This is an increase in spending, which allows to set the minimum wage of a doctor in 2022 at $755 in accordance with the decree of the President of Ukraine,” Prime Minister said.
As it was reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft law on Ukraine's state budget for 2022. In general, next year, the average monthly salary in Ukraine is supposed to reach almost UAH 15,500 ($582).
