450,000 tons of poor-quality oil, which had previously been transported to Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline, were pumped back to Russia, Belneftekhim company informed.

The Belarusian operator of the main pipeline - JSC Gomeltransneft Druzhba completed a series of steps on a roadmap for technical measures to displace the organochlorine-contained oil in two lines of the Druzhba pipeline from Mozyr to the border with Poland. 450,000 tons of polluted oil were returned to the Russian Federation’s reverse. It was replaced by oil, corresponding to the standard,” reads the message.

Belneftekhim noted that on the evening of June 8, pure oil was received at the cross-border Polish pumping station Adamovo.

"After checking the quality of oil, a decision was made to resume oil transit in the direction of the refineries of Poland and Germany from June 9, 2019. According to the schedule, daily flow in the amount of 65 000 tons is planned in June," the company informed.

“Oil transit to Ukraine is conducted according to the schedule,” Belneftekhim stressed.

As reported, on April 24, Poland suspended the receipt of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline due to pollution by organochlorine compounds.
