As of November 15, 23 units of thermal power plants (TPPs) and combined heat and power plants (CHPs) with a total capacity of 7.85 GW were out of operation in Ukraine due to lack of fuel, the press service of NEK Ukrenergo repors.
"According to the manufacturers, 23 units of TPPs and CHPs with a total capacity of 7.85 GW (as of the morning of November 1, 23 units and one building of TPPs and CHPs with a total capacity of 7.88 GW) cannot operate due to the lack of fuel," the statement reads.
It is noted that the production level at TPPs on November 8-14 compared to the previous week decreased by 9.5% (to 812 million kWh) despite the increase in electricity consumption. The reason for the decrease in Ukrenergo was the increase in production of other types of pwoer generation - NPPs (by 4%), HPPs (by 19%) and SES and WPPs (by 32.2%).
It was reported earlier that as of the morning of November 13, 60% of the capacities of the state-owned Centrenergo thermal power plants are not working due to the lack of coal.
