13 clubs of German Bundesliga under threat of bankruptcy due to coronavirus

Four clubs of the first Bundesliga and nine clubs of the second will be able to survive only until May-June, if the season does not resume

One-third of the 36 professional German clubs from the first and second Bundesliga faced the threat of bankruptcy due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced at a special video conference in the framework of the German Football League, according to the Kicker website.

13 clubs of the first and second Bundesliga may go bankrupt due to measures to combat coronavirus.

One major league club can fulfill its obligations only until May. Three more clubs from this category are due to appoint a financial insolvency representative in June.

Seven clubs of the second Bundesliga also will be able to fulfill their obligations only until May, if the season does not resume. Two more clubs at this level of funds will last only until June.
