Expenditures on scientific and scientific-technical activities are taken into account in the amount of $517 million in the draft State Budget of Ukraine for 2022, which is 11.6% higher than planned for the current year.
Expenditures are planned to support the activities of the National Research Fund and provide grant support for research in the amount of $31 million, which is 7.9% of the total financial support for research activities from the General Fund of the State Budget, which are part of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Also, the draft State Budget for 2022 includes funds in the amount of $12,4 million for marine research in the Southern Ocean on its own ice-class research vessel.
In order to combine the scientific potential in medicine with the production potential in the draft State Budget for 2022, the expenditures of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine provide for expenditures in the amount of $11,2 million to create a modern biocluster for vaccine production.
Expenditures in the amount of $19,8 million were taken into account in the draft state budget of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to support scientific research by scientific institutions that have significant scientific and practical results of wide national and international significance, support of priority directions of scientific research.
Expenditures to support the scientific activities of young scientists are included in the expenditures of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the amount of $8,4 million.
In addition, to provide housing for scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2022, expenditures in the amount of $3,7 million are provided, which is 1.7 times more than planned in 2021.
