President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky told what kind of person would head of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for the settlement of the situation in Donbas. He stated this during the opening of the Okhmatdyt hospital, which was broadcasted by the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"We need to find a balance, a person whom Russia talks to, a person who, most importantly, is respected in Ukraine, a person who can dominate the negotiating table, a person who can react, who will not betray Ukraine in difficult moments, in challenging moments. A person with experience and a person who is neither right nor left, he is centrist, he keeps balance, he is respected by the majority of Ukraine's population, both in the east and in the west," Zelensky said.
Zelensky said that one of the contenders is Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories and First Deputy Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Oleksiy Reznikov. In addition, talks are underway with Ukraine's first president, Leonid Kravchuk, and there are several other candidates.
As we reported earlier, yesterday, on July 28, Ukraine's Representative in Minsk Leonid Kuchma withdrew from the activities of the Trilateral Contact Group.
