On the anniversary of the Paris summit of the Normandy Four leaders, on December 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine had proved its interest in achieving peace in Donbas to the world community. Zelensky's words were published by his press service.
"The path to peace is always thorny. But this is the path that both sides must take. Ukraine's activity in the negotiations has shown the entire world and, most importantly, the people of Donbas that we are interested in peace and that Russia is blocking the implementation of the relevant agreements," the statement said.
He also stressed Ukraine's readiness for a new stage of troops' disengagement, demining of new areas, as well as for the next round of mutual release of detainees.
As we reported earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov stated that the situation in the Donbas Conflict zone might deteriorate at any moment as it depended on the authorities of the Russian Federation.
