Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Leonid Kravchuk the head of Ukrainian delegation in Minsk Trilateral Contact Group on peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
Such decree was signed by the President Zelensky on July 30, as the press service of Office of the President reports.
“To introduce Leonid Kravchuk, President of Ukraine in 1991-1994, to the Ukrainian delegation for participation in the Trilateral Contact Group, appointing him the head of the delegation,” the document reads.
The Office of the President noted that, as the former President of Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk has the experience needed to participate in the negotiation process of this level.
Leonid Kravchuk agreed to take the office saying that he will do everything possible to achieve peace in Donbas.
Earlier Representative of Ukraine in Minsk Leonid Kuchma has withdrawn from Trilateral Contact Group (TCG).
