Water reserves in Avdiivka enough for four days, - Emergency Service

The water reserve in Avdiivka, Donetsk region will be enough for four days as Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported.

On December 25, at 6:00 am, Donetsk Filtration Station ceased operation again due to the loss of power. The water supply to Avdiivka was stopped.

According to State Emergency Service, the water supply can be carried round-the-clock if it is needed. It will be possible to do from the reserve stocks by the capacity of 4,000 cubic meters. However, it will be enough only for four days.

In the case of the absence of the water in the reservoir, it will be provided to the locals by vehicles.

The repair work at the damaged power lines, which stopped the work of  Donetsk Filtration Station is taking place from 9:00 am, December 27.

Earlier the pro-Russian militants have shelled Zolote city in Luhansk region and it resulted in the damage of the main waterpipe (1200 mm diameter), which led to the leakage of water in the volume of more than 2.000 cubic meters per hour.

Besides, Toretsk, Zalizne, Pivnichne and Pivdenne, the four towns in Donetsk region are cut off from the water supply system.
