The South Donbas water pipeline that recently took damage due to ongoing shellings in Donetsk region is operable again; the locals residing in the adjacent towns and villages finally have water – after being cut off from the source more than a week.
According to Pavlo Zhebrivsky, Head of Donetsk regional administration, the maintenance crews were supposed to launch the pipeline on late June 15; however, as of Friday noon, people from several towns report that they still have no water.
As 112 International reported, the water pipeline was shelled and rendered inoperable on June 8; some 400,000 people in five districts of Donetsk region were cut off from the major drinking water source.
