Water-pipe break in Donetsk region, 40,000 people left without water

As a result of the breach of the water-pipe "Horlivka – Toretsk" (diameter 900 mm) near Horlivka (in the so-called gray zone) the public water supply was stopped in Toretske, Zalizne, Severne, Yuzhne as the Emergency Service in Donetsk region reported.

It was stated that 42,813 people were left without water.

"On October 17, it is planned to involve the Chief Department of the Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region and public utilities in the provision of the population with water. The supply of water to the population and critical infrastructure objects will take place by the resupply of water by cars," the message said.

Also, it is reported that the detection of the breach place and holding of the repair works at the pointed area of the water-pipe will take place if the security guarantees to the workers of "Donbas Water" are provided.

Earlier we reported that more than 230 people poisoned with piped water on the occupied areas of Donetsk region over one week.

Also, the water supply in Avdiivka and a number of other settlements in Donetsk region was restored after the repairmen of the South-Donbas water conduit.
