The violation of the New Year and Christmas truce by the pro-Russian militants in Donbas is connected to the vested interested of the leaders of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) claimed this as the press service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported at Facebook.
According to the JCCC, the militants began the shelling of the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Pavlopol from the grenade launchers and small arms on January 1 at 13:30. Also, they launched two 120-mm mortar shells and later they attack from the 82-mm mortar launchers.
Moreover, the militants used the small arms, grenade and mortar launchers near Vodyane and Luhanske.
'The Ukrainian side of the JCCC urges to continue the shelling of the location of the detachments of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the established New Year and Christmas truce, including from the weaponry forbidden by the Minsk Agreements, with the inability of the militants' leaders to stick to the taken commitments and their interested in the further escalation of the armed conflict', the message said.
Also, the Ukrainian JCCC noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine stick to the Minsk Agreements and ceasefire regime among all demarcation line, despite the provocation.
