Verification of prisoners starts in Donbas

Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk agreed on verification of citizens’ refusal to move to the uncontrolled by Ukraine part of Donbas

The process of verification of prisoners started in Donbas. It was agreed upon by the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk. This was reported by the Interfax-Ukraine.

Representatives of “DNR” and “LNR”, mothers of the detained in Donbas people accompanied by the Ukrainian Ombudsman Valeriya Lutkovska, Security Service officer and OSCE representatives went to Mariupol where they will visit several prison colonies.

After the verification and drawing up of the lists of persons for exchange, which is expected to be done before May 15, the parties will agree on the date of exchange.

According to the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk, there are 127 Ukrainians captured in occupied Donetsk and Luhansk. The militants claim that they are looking for 476 people and offer 42 people for an exchange.

Earlier it was reported that Trilateral Contact Group discussed security issue and prisoners release in Minsk on March 29. "The first question at all our meetings in Minsk is security issue and ceasefire," Ukrainian representative in Trilateral Contact Group Leonid Kuchma stressed.
