The Verkhovna Rada can prolong the actions of the ‘Law on special order of the self-government in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk region’ for one year as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
‘Law on special order of the self-government in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk region’ came into force on October 20, 2014. According to it, the special order of the self-government is implemented for three years. The implementation of the law is provided by the Minsk Agreements since February 12, 2015, but it did not begin. The Ukrainian side insists that the elections in occupied Donbas are possible only after the withdrawal of the Russian troops and return of control over the border.
