Russia continues to intimidate and get in the way of the work of OSCE special monitoring mission in Donbas. U.S. Mission to OSCE's Charge d'Affaires Harry Kamien said that at a session of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on Thursday evening.
‘The SMM is a critically important component in OSCE’s response. It plays an important part in the implementation of Minsk agreements. However, Russia and its proxies continue to intimidate, disturb and attack the observers, limiting their access to certain areas of the combat zone, which makes it impossible for them to fulfill their commitments', Kamien said.
The U.S. diplomat added that the Mission 'should be able to report to OSCE member countries on the situation timely and objectively, - including the situation in Crimea, which remains an integer part of Ukraine and thus is under the OSCE mandate.'
