The UN Security Council approved a resolution providing for an immediate ceasefire in all armed conflicts and for a humanitarian pause in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. Press secretary of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN Oleh Nikolenko reports this on his Facebook page.

100 days after the UN Secretary General’s appeal for a global ceasefire during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Security Council today finally adopted the long-awaited resolution,” Nikolenko said.

He also clarified that the document requires immediate cessation of hostilities and calls for a humanitarian pause for 90 days. The document also relates to the conflict in Donbas.

As we reported before, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed protest against an illegal visit of ​​ Members of the European Parliament from France to the temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as some representatives of Germany, Hungary, and Bulgaria, and called for sanctions against organizers of illegal voting for amendments to the Russian Constitution in Crimea.

This visit is carried out in violation of Ukrainian law on access to the temporarily occupied territory and has no official status,” the statement said.
