The so-called Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) and Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) claimed that the UN peacekeeping mission will be deployed in Donbas only after the approval of its mandate in Donetsk and Luhansk. It is claimed at the joint statement of the ‘political representatives’ of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR Denis Pushilin and Vladyslav Deynego at the negotiations of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) that was published by the separatist mass media.
They commented on the words of US Special Envoy in Ukraine Kurt Volker on the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission.
‘There will be no UN forces in Donbas without our agreement. It is possible to get our agreement only through the negotiations in the TCG where are fully represented’, Pushylin and Deynego noted.
‘If Mister Volker wants to avoid the failure of his mission he can appeal to the Contact group. We will consider his proposals and think on the correspondence of his ideas with the interests of DPR and LNP’, they added.
The representatives of the militants also did not exclude that such Volker’s statements connected with the fact that ‘evidently, he had no time to get acquainted with the supporters of the Minsk Agreements’.
‘We will sent the copies of the Minsk documents that are signed by Heads of People’s Republics Alexander Zakharchenko and Ihor Plotnytsky to Mister Volker. These signs were made in Minsk where the leaders of Donbas took part at all negotiations as the equal partners at the behest of the countries of Normandy Format. DPR and LPR will take part in all further negotiations on the peaceful settlement of Donbas on this basis regardless the will of Volker’, the statement said.
Earlier US Special Envoy in Ukraine Kurt Volker supposed that the resolution of the UN Security Council on the peacekeeping mission in Donbas will be created until the end of the year.
