The militants fired at Ukrainians positions 10 times over the past day, one Ukrainian soldier, born in 1979, died. Dmytro Hutsulyak, Defense Ministry speaker, said about it during the briefing in the Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
Another soldier was injured. He is in a satisfactory condition in the hospital.
Militants performed adjusted fire twice in the direction of Luhansk. Both times they fired at the positions of Ukraine’s Armed Forces near Luhanske. The opponent used 82-mm mortars, BMP-1 vehicles and heavy machine guns. Ukrainian soldier used infantry units’ arms to fight the enemy.
Militants continue being active in Donetsk direction. In the morning of February 15 militants attacked positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using 82-mm mortars. Positions near the village of Vodyane were shelled three times – the opponent fired twenty 120-mm shells and used 120-mm artillery arms. Besides, they were firing from BMP-1 vehicles and from different grenade dispensers.
120-mm and 82-mm, banned by Minsk agreement, mortars were used against positions near Pavlopil, Chermalyk, Shyrokyne. Apart from mortars, grenade dispensers and small arms militants used ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft mount near Butivka mine.
In total, militants fired 10 artillery shells, seventy 120-mm, and forty 82-mm shells.
Ukrainian soldiers fired back twice from infantry, which is not banned.
