“Unfortunately, he died and the body of the hero fell into the hands of the occupants who ruthlessly and cynically used him for the propaganda of “the Russian peace” and war,” the message says.
The representatives of the HQ added that the deceased was the native resident of Donbas, Dmytro Ukrainsky.
“The deceased was carrying out an intelligence mission on August 8 in the so-called grey zone. Being the commander of the cover team he understood that he was trapped and accepted the fight. The main group, having received the report from Dmytro Ukrainsky about the entrapment, started retreating. Dmytro Ukrainsky along with his colleague, who was just 19 years old, was conducting battle with the enemy’s superior forces. Having found out that the main group had retreated, he ordered the 19-year-old intelligence operator to retreat. Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ukrainsky died as a hero,” the HQ informs.
It was noted that he was presented to the state award postmortem.
Dmytro Ukrainsky served in the 24th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, on August 8 the connection was lost with one of the Ukrainian soldiers. Later it was reported that on August 9 one Ukrainian soldier died and two more were wounded.
