One Ukrainian serviceman died on Saturday, receiving an incompatible shrapnel wound as a result of shelling near Pisky village in Donetsk region. The Facebook page of the Joint Forces operation reported on Saturday.
"As of 7:00 on June 26, two violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded. Near the settlement of Pisky, the enemy fired twice from 120 caliber mortars and heavy anti-tank grenade launchers. As a result of the shelling, one Ukrainian soldier received a shrapnel wound incompatible with life," the message reads.
It is reported that the Ukrainian servicemen opened fire in response.
The Ukrainian side of the JCCC informed the OSCE SMM about the incident.
As we reported earlier, over the past day, on June 25, some seven violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded in the area of the Joint Forces operation.
In the area of Vodyane, Russian mercenaries opened fire from various kinds of grenade launchers and small arms.
Not far from Zolote-4, the illegal armed units of Russia-backed militants opened fire from RPGs. Near Avdiivka, they opened fire from heavy machine guns and small arms.
The enemy also opened fire from 120 mm mines in the direction of Hranitne. Hostile Orlan-10 UAVs flied over Katerynivka and Avdiivka.
