At the border with the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas, the Ukrainian side will introduce additional sanitary security measures due to the risk of the spread of coronavirus. Press secretary of second president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma and representative of Ukraine in the tripartite contact group Darka Olifer wrote about this on her page on Facebook.
"A discussion has begun of decision-making modalities regarding the opening of new checkpoints across the line of contact, as well as additional sanitary and epidemiological measures in connection with the threat of the spread of coronavirus," the spokeswoman wrote.
She also noted that the Ukrainian side had informed regarding the establishment by it of the necessary means of control over epidemiological safety and called for similar measures to the opposite side.
As we reported before, all the entry-exit checkpoints in Donbas will switch to the spring working mode on March 1.
The entry-exit procedures and respective control measures will be conducted daily from 7 a.m. till 6.30 p.m.
Earlier, Defense Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk claimed that the ongoing disengagement in Donbas did not significantly affect the security situation; that was more like a way to solve humanitarian problems for the locals.
