The military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully repulsed an attack by pro-Russian militants in the area of Avdiivka, Donetsk Region. This is stated in a message posted on the JFO Facebook page.

"Today, at 5:40, the invaders tried to check the vigilance and strength of one of the strongholds of the Joint forces in the Avdiivka area. Two groups of occupants, being completely sure that they were hiding their positions, approached the effective firing range. The enemy’s movement was constantly monitored by an observer Vitaly Parkhomovych, the fire weapons were preparing to perform the attack. A few more meters, and the company commander, Lieutenant Roman Sanin, ordered “Fire!” The prepared concentrated fire did not give an opponent a chance. Occupants have quickly retreated," said in a statement.

Some of the militants were injured. However, their number and nature of injuries is not specified.

After repelling the attack, the military of the Ukrainian Armed Forces searched the battlefield to finally be convinced of the enemy’s retreat. During the inspection, the machine gun was found, which, according to the registration
number, was never been the lists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that since the beginning of the day, 3 targeted enemy shelling from grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms were recorded in the Donetsk direction - in the area of Shyrokyne, Lebedynske, Avdiivka. As a result of the fighting, one Ukrainian military was wounded.
