A group of anti-airborne defense is deployed in the Mariupol sector of Donbas combat area. Its main objective will be to protect the seashore of the Sea of Azov. This is a restriction measure and the improvement to the defense system due to the major threat of military invasion from the waters of the Azov Sea. Serhiy Nayev, the Commander of Joint Forces Operation reported that on Thursday evening. 

'In terms of military, the Ukrainian coast of Azov is protected reliably. In order to prevent the enemy's invasion from the waters of the Azov Sea, the Joint Forces performed a complex of measures to reinforce the defenses in this area, to improve the combat efficiency of units that act in this area', Nayev said as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

Besides, he said that the newly deployed group duly cooperates with the Ukrainian Navy. The services exchange intelligence data on the current situation on the ground, on the sea and in the air.  

Earlier on Thursday, Nayev said that since late April 2018, the Ukrainian military has eliminated 450 Russian militants. “According to our intelligence, since the Joint Forces Operation began, the enemy sustained 450 fatalities; some 850 were injured. Besides, 28 items military vehicles were destroyed,” he stated.
