Ukrainian law enforcers have detained Russian FSB agent who planned a terror attack. Press department of Prosecutor General's Office reported that on Monday. 

"An agent of the FSB of the Russian Federation was detained, and a terrorist act was prevented during the special operation", reads the message. 

It turned out that the culprit served with the so-called "people's police of LNR" (non-recognized Luhansk People's Republic, - 112 International). In 2020, he was recruited as the agent of Russia's Federal Security Bureau. He tried to receive classified information from a military research institute in Kharkiv city, using the aid from an insider. However, in February 2021, the latter was apprehended.

The culprit came to Severodonetsk town, where he planned to commit a terrorist act; he planned to plant a home-made explosive in the car of a chairman of local research institute. The bomb was prepared by the curators of the FSB. The perpetrator was detained as he tried to put the explosive under the seat of the car.

If his guilt is proven, he faces prison term from five to ten years, with or without confiscation of property.
