The forces of Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) are ready for ceasefire from June 24, however indicate readiness to open fire in life-threatening situations. This was reported to Interfax-Ukraine by Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Defense Ministry Speaker.
"We are ready for ceasefire regime. We will respect it. However, we will adequately respond to enemy actions," Motuzyanyk said to the agency on Friday.
At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine always adheres to Minsk agreements, particularly, every ceasefire accord in Anti-Terrorist Operation zone was strictly observed by Ukrainian military.
"We are opening fire only in the case of real threat to lives of our fighters in Donbas," Defense Ministry Speaker noted.
The according agreement was reached by the participants of Trilateral Contact Group during the meeting in Minsk on June 21.
