Pavlo Klimkin, Anders Samuelsen and Tomáš Petříček, the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Denmark and the Czech Republic visited the entry-exit checkpoint in Hnutove, Donetsk region. The press service of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry reported that on Tuesday evening.
The officials inspected the checkpoint that lies on the division line in the combat area in eastern Ukraine. They also arrived in the Mariupol seaport and then took a ride on a boat of Ukraine's Maritime Guard of the Border Guard Service.
The Czech and Danish officials expressed their support for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity; they judged Russia's actions and urged Moscow to release the arrested Ukrainian sailors who were captured in the attack on Ukrainian naval ships in the Kerch Strait. In case the Kremlin refuses to set the seamen free, the EU will introduce new sanctions against Russia, the diplomats claimed.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry announced that the issues of the possible introduction of restrictive measures against Russia would be discussed during the session of the EU Council for Foreign Affairs. It is slated for February 18.
